Failure to follow these guidelines will severely postpone the handling of a submission.
Copyright
Articles submitted to Scientific Inquiry must be original contributions. The author must justify that the work is not a violation of any existing copyright and will indemnify the publisher of Scientific Inquiry against any breach of such warranty. For ease of distribution and to verify apt policing of use, contributions and papers will become the lawful copyright of the publisher if not arranged otherwise. Send your submissions to:
The Editor
Yi Lin, Editorial Office, 260 Elm Street, Slippery Rock, PA 16057 USA. No internet submissions will be accepted.
Editorial Objectives (Mission)
Scientific Inquiry is a forum of the highest professional quality for both scientists and nonscientists alike to exchange ideas and publish new discoveries in many subject areas. This forum aims to bring forth anything, from innovative understandings to known theories to unexplainable discoveries not adequately studied in mainstream science. It provides everyone the opportunity to present, criticize and discuss their findings, theories and ideas with others. The goal of Scientific Inquiry is to enable those with inquiring minds to express thoughts that may potentially lead to the next scientific revolution, and consequently, improve the standard of living.
The Reviewing Process
The editor reviews each submission for suitability. If chosen, the paper will be sent to at least two referees for blind review. The editor then decides, based on the referees’ recommendations, whether the paper is to be accepted in its present condition, declined or modified.
Paper Format
Scientific Inquiry publishes original research articles in any field of learning that are not published elsewhere. All contributions must be written in English. The title of each submission should not exceed three lines unless absolutely necessary. Papers can be as long as needed to illustrate the author’s findings. Figures (e.g., charts, diagrams, line drawings, tables, photographic images, etc.) are optional, but a figure legend is appreciated. Screenshots are also welcome.
Clarity
Since Scientific Inquiry covers all areas of learning and is distributed worldwide, make sure each paper is clearly written and understandable to those of different disciplines and those of whom English is not their first language. Asking colleagues of dissimilar disciplines to comment on the clarity of your paper is often helpful.
Typesetting of Papers
For detailed information on how to prepare the paper for final submission, please refer to the document Typesetting of Papers Prepared for Scientific Inquiry.
Submission of Articles
Step 1: Mail three high-quality, one-sided copies of the manuscript prepared according to the instructions found in Typesetting of Papers Prepared for Scientific Inquiry. Please include a 3.5” disk, Zip disk, or CD-ROM for Windows (Macintosh is not accepted) saved in Microsoft Word format. Label the disk with the author’s name(s), title of the article, journal title, and file name.
Step 2: Along with the submission, send no more than 5 and no less than 3 reprints of previously published papers this new work is related to or based on.
Step 3: Attach a completed copy of the copyright transfer form and a list of seven (7) potential reviewers. Please add their current, detailed postal and email addresses, along with their individual academic achievements. The editor may also select reviewers beyond this list.
Each copy of a revised paper should be accompanied with its electronic file and a copy of the author’s responses to referees’ and editor’s comments on the earlier version of the paper.
The article should also be accompanied with a brief cover letter from the corresponding author. Make sure it contains the author’s full current postal address, telephone and fax numbers, and email address. Please state in the cover letter why your article should be published in Scientific Inquiry. Brevity here is essential.
Do not fax or email any papers unless the editor requests the final version to be an email attachment.
Pre-publicity
Once submitted, no author may discuss his/her work with the media and other journals until after the publication date. Any violation of this standard will lead to unconditional rejection by Scientific Inquiry.
Upon publication, the corresponding author will receive twenty reprint copies of his work. At the same time, Scientific Inquiry will not be responsible of answering any media inquiries regarding any published work in the journal.
Fees
Publication fees: US$300 for a paper up to six journal pages and $20 per additional page. This fee will be used to partially offset publication-related costs. US$20.00 included in this fee will be used to cover expenses of the rigorous review process, and the rest covers editing- and publication-related expenses.
