Plans for the Future of the IIGSS, Inc.

1.

Focus primarily on the theoretical core of systemic thinking including approaches which have proven to be effective in real-life situations.

2.

Develop increasingly mature scientific theories for systems research and systemic thinking.

3.

Explore potential applications so that real-life benefits can be realized as we deepen our understanding of nature and of human artifacts.

The following  is a more detailed and specific plan for the IIGSS.

I.                   Ongoing Projects

    1. Preparation for the well-known IIGSS Workshop Series

The IIGSS is constantly preparing its upcoming IIGSS Workshops. If interested, please drop a line at iigss@iigss.net for your suggestions and inputs

    1. Expansion of the Repository Library Resources

Through various professional contacts the IIGSS has been actively seeking donations of relevant scholarly works such as journals, books, conference proceedings, etc., to expand its repository library.

    1. Building a Catalog of All Repository Materials

With support of volunteers the IIGSS is currently cataloging its collection of scholarly materials in the repository library. This catalog will be made on line at www.iigss.net.

    1. Hosting Visiting Scholars

On an ongoing basis the IIGSS invites scholars to visit, meet colleagues, study, and make presentations at the headquarters of the IIGSS in Grove City, Pennsylvania, USA.

    1. Enhancing the Website

The official website of the IIGSS is continually being updated as more current information becomes available.

    1. Obtaining a Dedicated Office Space

The IIGSS is currently negotiating with various prospective donors to obtain a campus for its activities.

    1. Fundraising for the Institute

Fundraising is an ongoing activity in order to realize the goals and objectives of the IIGSS in terms of systems education, research in systemic science, and related matters.

II.                Prospective Projects

a.      Publication of a Regular Newsletter

As it grows, the IIGSS plans to communicate with its associates through a regularly published newsletter.

b.      Publication of Books and Journals

Since 1998 the IIGSS has had an officially established academic press to serve the scientific community through better communications in various forms. The goal in this area is to publish books, journals, and other relevant materials.

c.       Preparing Educational Software in Systemic Disciplines

The IIGSS is planning to design and offer various courses, aiming at educating new generations of systemic thinkers so that more real-life and scholastic benefits can be obtained. Eventually the IIGGS is aiming at establishing an educational institute with degree programs in systemic sciences and technology.

d.      Preparing Residential and Web Courses in Systemic Disciplines

The IIGSS will soon offer courses on principles of systemic thinking, mathematical and computer modeling, computer simulation, and other relevant topics.

e.      Sponsoring Scholarly Work in General Tropodynamics

The IIGSS is planning to sponsor the research and publication of the theory of General Tropodynamics. This theory is a direct consequence of the currently successful "blown-up theory" which has had practical applications in forecasting disastrous weather conditions during the last 20 plus years.

f.        Gathering Repository and Historical Materials

An ongoing effort is the call for donations of repository items and historical materials for the IIGSS repository and library. This library can eventually become a unique resource for the international community of systemic thinkers and practitioners.

g.      Developing Software for a General Systems Simulator

The IIGSS hopes to implement generalized simulation software which embodies the powerful theoretical results of systemic thinking so that prospective applications can be facilitated and checked and so students can experiment with systemic concepts in a safe and educational way.

h.      Consulting for Companies, Institutions, and Agencies

With collective intelligence and collegial connections from throughout the world, the IIGSS will be in an excellent position to offer consulting services to companies, academic entities, government agencies, etc., providing the most current information and advice.

i.        Initialing Enterprises with Practical Applications of Systemic Thinking

Since the concepts and theoretical results of the systemic thinking have many potential real-life benefits, the IIGSS will work to develop enterprises within its scope that will apply theoretical studies so that the future generations of systems analysts will not only think systemically and scientifically but also will be able to exercise their wisdom in practice.

j.        Setting up Additional Regional and International Branches of the IIGSS

Over time, the IIGSS will set up more regional and international branches at various geographical locations and with different scientific focuses.
