Premises of the IIGSS

  • Systemic thinking, general theories of systems, and the work of the systems movement are worth preserving in perpetuity.
  • At present, systems theory is often inadequate, and systems practice is often immature. Better systemic theories and more successful applications of these theories need to be established.
  • Systemics/systemology is an applied philosophy worth developing its own theoretical merits for the next scientific generation and in practice for substantially improved applications.
Our Mission Statement
To promote research and education in systemic thinking, and to encourage the development of maturer theories and the successful application of systems research in all areas of study so that nature and artifacts can be understood at a higher level, resulting in practical benefits.
